The 2022 Sage Canyon Red is a beauty. The color is bright, and the aroma is attention-grabbing, combining exotic pit fruit of peach and apricot, with traces of mineral and earth. The flavors are a complex blend of allspice, clove and nutmeg. There is a lovely wild-cherry component accompanying the long, smooth finish.
Blend: 35% Carignan, 20% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, 10% Zinfandel, 5% Grenache

Notes of mulled fruit and spice come through in the nose, and the concentration of baked red plum, cassis, dried florals, and clove wafts across the palate. The supple, juicy red/ blackberry finish leaves grippy tannins and a longing for another sip.
